The Certificate III in Print Communications (ICP31415) is suitable for trainees wishing to gain a broad and thorough knowledge of the Printing and Graphic Arts industry. The course provides the opportunity to develop pre-press skills in typography, design and layout, preparation of files for print, scanning images, image outputting, imposition and a range of current industry software applications.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of year 11 or equivalent
All students entering this qualification must have an English language proficiency level of one of the below:
- IELTS band score of 5.5 ( Academic or general version) or equivalent internationally recognized exam result in line with DIBP requirements or
- IELTS band score of 4.5 ( Academic or general version) or equivalent combined with Satisfactory completion of at least 20 weeks of ELICOS or
- Completed secondary studies equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification from an English – Language speaking country.
- Be eligible for an English language exemption in line with DIBP requirements

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self and/or team in the film, television, radio and interactive media industries. The specific target group of NIT for this course are international students with basic to mid level skills and knowledge in interactive media, interested in developing a range of specialised and technical skills in digital animation, 3D models and environment, and special effects.
QUALIFICATIONS
On successfully completing this course, graduates will receive the nationally recognised CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media (Interactive Media).
JOB PROSPECTS
On successful completion of the course graduates can seek employment in one of the job roles specified such as animation/digital effects designer, creative technologist, and interactive media creator/designer/developer.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The RTO Has determined that for the purpose of entry to this qualification any AQF vocational qualification at or above Cert IV level is a relevant qualification.
All students entering this qualification must have an English language proficiency level of one of the below:
- IELTS band score of 5.5 (Academic or general version) or equivalent internationally recognized exam result, or
- IELTS band score of 5.0 (Academic or general version) then Satisfactory completion of ELICOS or ESL up to 20 weeks at upper intermediate level or
- Upper Intermediate (General English) or higher certificate from a CRICOS registered English language training provider
- In the 2 years before commencing the course, has completed secondary studies equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification from an English language speaking country.
- In the 2 years before commencing the course, has completed, in Australia and in the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate III or higher level.
Nova Institute of Technology also has students do an online English proficiency test to ensure that students have the English language capacity to successfully complete this course.
For overseas students on an Australian student visa, NIT has a requirement that all students must be over 18 years of age at the commencement of course.
It is recommended that students have attained a year 12 certificate or equivalent.
PATHWAYS
NIT has direct pathway in place for graduates of this course to the Bachelor of Interactive Media Design at Chisholm Institute. NIT graduates electing this option are eligible for 1 year credit of the Bachelor of Interactive Media Design at Chisholm.
